A fabulous, successful cow family (the Sneeker family), an international top bull sire, good production, very good conformation and high lifetime production are just a few of the traits offered by A2A2 bull Vandenberg Richarlison. Following in the footsteps of his namesake (the Brazilian professional footballer Richarlison), this bull is also expected to be a top scorer.
One of the most widely used bull sires internationally of recent years is Rioaveso, a bull stationed in Spain. This sire of Richarlison has an almost flawless inheritance pattern, and what’s more, he scores very high for virtually all his traits. Some of his stand-out features are sky-high production (including positive component percentages), correct udders, very good health traits and longevity.
Longevity and high lifetime production appear to be anchored in Richarlison’s maternal line (the Sneeker family). The youngest three generations of Sneekers in Richarlison’s maternal line are a fine example. All three are still in great health, ranging from third calver Sneeker 17 (VG 88) to the eighth calver Sneeker 2 (VG 88). Wonder daughter Sneeker 2 (the great grand dam of Richarlison) has already clocked up more than 95,000 kg of milk and seems well on her way to becoming the third generation in succession to achieve the magic 100,000 litres of milk. Her dam, Stol Joc daughter Sneeker 422 (VG 87) and grand dam, O-man daughter Sneeker 247 (VG 89), preceded her in reaching this milestone. The three previous generations of Sneekers (all ranked VG) produced 79,000 kg or more of milk, but just failed to make the 100,000 kg mark. The Sneekers are also very good at producing breeding bulls and can claim names like Gofast, Clever, Skyfall and more recently Niro and Sneaker.
