Jonno is an interesting new Groningen bull with Red Carrier. He was born in the barn of Johny and Tina Zuidveld in Garrelsweer in the northern part of the Netherlands. Early spring 2010 Jonno was the first choice of the Dutch Association for Groningen breeders, due to his fine pedigree and best conformation.
Jonno is a moderate developed bull. He is long and has the looks of a modern, slightly late maturing, bull. What makes him even more attractive is his sire Henmeer Job. Job’s daughters gave him promising indexes for production and conformation, especially a good index for longevity (over 365 days).
The combination of Job with the fine developed, typical, well uddered and good producing Jantien 39 will bring interesting possibilities. The weakest point however, dam Jantien 39 is over 11 years of age, is her average protein percentage of approx. 3.35%. Although she peaked at production levels of 50 kgs of milk a day! Jonno’s sire Job breeds good protein levels and also his maternal granddam Jantien 38 gave an average of 3.8% Protein! Her sire is Kennedy, which gives Jonno some extra potential for longevity and a little bit of Holstein Friesian in his pedigree (less than 12%). Most important Jonno is a 100% black Groningen bull from the province of Groningen.
