The Fienchen line, which features in the maternal side of Poppe Magic Match Red (Mauro x Norbert x Rocky) has gained a name as a very reliably breeding, and widely used, cow family in recent years. Following in the footsteps of the polled SAMEN bull Fame (Pp), it is now the turn of Magic Match Red to prove the enduring value of the high production and good conformation typical of the Fienchen family.
The Fienchen line originates in the USA, where the foundations were formed by cows such as Factor Feebe (EX 92) and Feather (EX 92). The conformation of the Fienchens has always remained consistently high resulting in 11 generations of cows that scored 84 to 92 points for overall conformation. Stol Joc daughter Fienchen 580 (VG89), the great great grand dam of Magic Match Red, is probably the most impressive Dutch cow in this line. Fienchen 580 had production totalling more than 115,000 kg of milk and produced more than 25 daughters, some of which were the result of flushing. One of the most successful combinations was with Danillo, a match that resulted in four daughters with scores varying between 86 and 88 points. The offspring of Danillo daughter Fienchen 803 include the breeding bull Ephrain and the great grand dam of Magic Match Red. Her daughter Fienchen 972, a daughter of top all-rounder and longevity specialist Rocky, is in turn the mother of SAMEN bull Fame (Pp) and grand dam of Magic Match Red.
With Mauro as his sire, Magic Match Red also offers an interesting paternal bloodline. Calving ease bull Mauro is a top calibre all-rounder. Plenty of milk, high component percentages and good health traits characterise the qualities of Mauro. He also has excellent scores for udder and feet and legs, and he transmits good width and lots of body condition.
