For decades, the Nel family has been represented in the Grashoek herd. This cow family has produced many top breeding cows, 100,000 kg cows and show winners.
Nel 139 PP probably received the most attention from this line, and rightly so. This beautifully dark red EX91 Sunflower daughter became HHH Champion, won several championships at southern shows, bred multiple top daughters and passed the 100,000 kg milk mark. Her Timeless dam (VG88) reached a total production of over 80,000 kg. One generation further back, the Lucrative daughter Nel 96 (VG89) produced 65,000 kg, and foundation cow Nel 61 (EX90, s. Lord Lily) produced more than 80,000 kg. The well known show cow Nel 139 also produced the Arkansas daughter Nel 160, which has already reached 84,000 kg of milk. This extremely well balanced cow is the grand dam of Practice P, through her Tucson daughter Nel 203 P. This high quality cow passed on the polled gene to her son, making Practice P rf a bull with a rare combination of strong conformation in the cow family, high lifetime production, outcross bloodlines and a rare aAa 165 code within polled breeding.
