Fernandez 516 (Ferdinand x Jang x Ibis) shows a pleasing balance between strength and dairy type and will be a great match with many cows thanks to his outcross pedigree.
His excellent dam Elbrich was imported as a heifer from Denmark, her dam had completed three milk lists at the time. Elbrich yielded almost 70,000 litres of milk with good component percentages in seven lactations. She also excels in fertility and gave birth to her seventh calf in the same month as her first one: producing a calf every year! She also has good udder health.
As a fifth calf cow, Elbrich took part in a show in Workum, where she was judged in the black-and-white class. She was described as follows: “With her attractive appearance and great dairy type, Elbrich is one of the stand out cows in Workum. This fifth-calf daughter of Jang defines what dairy is and stands on super strong and clean cut legs.”
Fernandez's sire is Isau Lightning Ridge Ferdinand, an Australian bull who boasts eight excellent ranked dams in a row in his pedigree. Semen from this bull was difficult to obtain and has therefore rarely been used in the Netherlands. In short, Fernandez is a bull who matches well with many cows.
