Red Holstein bull De Paarlberg Kimi Red (Kayne x Colorado x Aram) offers many interesting traits. He is an imposing bull, has a slightly uncommon bloodline, his pedigree has impressive component percentages, including protein, and he originates from a wonderful cow family that has traits such as good longevity.
This family, the Bontjes, features an amazing individual in the shape of Kimi's 3rd dam Bontje 138 (EX 90). In line with practically all cows in the Bontje family, she produces component rich milk (4.80% fat and 3.80% protein) and has been doing so for many years as proven by lifetime production in excess of 150,000 kg! Her accolades also include 10,000 kg of fat and protein. Her abilities as a brood cow are also another great feature of Bontje 138, and have resulted in three branches. One line can be traced through her daughter by Classic, Bontje 152 (VG 85), and another through her Dominator daughter Bontje 145 (VG 89). Kimi Red is a result of the third branch that runs through his grand dam, Aram daughter Bontje 162 (VG 86). His dam, Colorado daughter Bontje 170, is currently the jewel in the crown of the herd. She combines fantastic conformation (EX 90) with great milk record lists that include very high protein percentages and an average lactation value of 125!
Kimi's sire Kayne has an equally impressive pedigree. Kayne descends from the well-known Wilder K family and also boasts high production and good conformation in his heritage. Kayne is well-suited for use on maiden heifers, and his first daughters are expected to calve soon.
