The American Jersey bull Covington Oliver Mace-P (Oliver x Biestar x Centurion) offers a number of interesting characteristics with his A2A2 for beta-casein and an AAA code of 165. In addition, half of his offspring are born polled (heterozygous polled). Finally, conformation is also part of his package as his maternal line includes four generation of excellent cows.
Oliver, the sire of Mace, was responsible for transmitting the polled gene to Mace. This breeding bull is noted as a calving ease bull who combines good production with solid conformation (including good legs).
Mace's maternal line numbers cows with the ability to be productive for many years. Both Maces's dam and grand dam have calved at least nine times and reached an age older than 10 years, most likely helped by their super conformation. Scoring 93, 94, 93 and 93 points in succession, the quality level of conformation in Mace’s maternal pedigree is exceptional.
