Now and again, K.I. Samen tries to add something a little out of the ordinary to its portfolio of bulls. Claynook Miramax (Matters x Wickham x Doorman), a bull born after embryo transfer , belongs to this category. A few of the noteworthy traits of this bull are a fully North American pedigree, top class conformation, including nine generations of cows ranked excellent in his maternal line, and beta casein A2A2.
Miramax also has a sloping rump. His sire Matters will have a limited influence on breeding in Europe. Matters, sired by the outcross bull Octoberfest, passes on plenty of milk combined with good conformation. His daughters are of average stature and have good width. Good legs, very good udders and good health traits round off the transmitting abilities of this bull.
Miramax’s maternal line can be characterised as impressive in all ways. This cow family, better known as the Whittier Farms Roz (EX 95) line, has wonderful conformation demonstrated by nine successive generations of excellent cows. One of the most influential cows in this line was Cherry Crest Manoman Roz (EX 91). According to Siemers Holsteins, this 4th dam of Miramax was the best cow they ever acquired. She is the foundation cow behind countless top quality cows and bulls, including Rozline and Guay. Her daughter Siemers Windbrook Rozini (EX 91) appears as the 3rd dam in the pedigree of Miramax. The two latest generations of his pedigree score even higher by meriting 93 points. Both his dam Reba and grand dam Roseen produce plenty of milk with sky high component percentages.
