Carambole Red

For many years, deep, proven cow families have been central to the breeding programme at K.I. Samen. The Toosje family is relatively new when it comes to herd improvement, but already well-known among Red-and-White enthusiasts. 

Toosje 724, the dam of Carambole Red (Famous x Everlight), reached the finals of the Best Farmer’s Cow competition several times and was even named Red-and-White Cow of the Year twice. This extremely complete brood cow (over 100,000 kg milk with 5.63% fat and 4.17% protein!) has recorded exceptional lactations, with extremely high components and a low somatic cell count. Her conformation is also remarkable (EX 91), and she excels in fertility. Less than 100 days after reaching 100,000 kg of milk, she also passed the milestone of 10,000 kg fat + protein. The generations behind her show that this did not come out of nowhere. Grand dam Toosje 722 (VG 89) produced over 80,000 kg milk with excellent components and also showed outstanding fertility. 

Carambole Red descends from a cow family with 8 generations classified between VG and EX! His dark red colour, correct conformation and deep, fresh maternal line make Carambole Red a valuable addition to Red-and-White breeding.
