The red-factor carrier American Florian rf (Floris x Try x Camion) descends from a cow family with quite a reputation at K.I.SAMEN -the Karina family. He follows in the footsteps of the bulls Ziggy and Silverstone, for example. The Karina line is renowned for its very good conformation, high component percentages and its - equally important- successful ability to produce breeding bulls.
Bulls such as Snooker, Label P and more recently Carnival are just a few examples of breeding bulls from this lineage. The latter (Carnival) is a half-brother of Florian, just like Silverstone, who has already been used by K.I.SAMEN. Their dam Karina 15 (a full sister of the breeding bull Lexus) is a cow that combines exemplary conformation with high milk production, sky-high protein and high lifetime production (already more than 70,000 kg of milk). Her dam Karina 8 (Florian’s grand dam) also offers the same traits. Via the 86-point D Sammy daughter Karina 4 (s. Shottle) we arrive at the first cow in this line to bear the name Karina. Her full sister Redspot 16 (who still had the original name Redspot) is also no stranger to K.I.-SAMEN. She is the grand dam of the K.I.-SAMEN bulls Gidion and Galvin.
And, finally, we must not leave out Florian's paternal pedigree. His sire Floris is an all-rounder of high quality. This calving ease bull matches very good conformation (including good udders and legs) with positive scores for milk, fat and protein. And he also scores well for health traits (udder health, claw health), fertility and durability.
