Rivelino 592 is from one of the purest bred Black Holstein lines in the world, with a matriarch that was born in 1946. This pure Friesian line ensures that it can be put to use almost blindly, without risk of inbreeding. More importantly, the combination with the Rivelino’s is somewhat of an “outcross”, namely foreign blood, within all the Black Holsteins. This health and vitality is something that the offspring can benefit from.
A certain number of functional characteristics are firmly anchored within the Rivelino line. The production tendencies are fine and furthermore allow many of the bulls to see an above average persistence and maturity. In addition to showing a nice plus for protein. What also stands out in particular is the depth of the frames, the excellent feet & legs and the exemplary udders. Not only within the line itself, but also for the users. Rivelino bulls clearly imprint these characteristics on their offspring because of the high purebred nature of these animals.
A particularly unique characteristic of the Rivelino line is the great ease with which the calves are born and, of equal importance, how easily they in turn calve. The first calves of Rivelino 592 were born and it looks very promising, especially given the problem free calving of the heifers. The sire, Rivelino 430, is a young bull sold to Ireland and who was in service for many years at Dovea genetics over there. Rivelino 592 was used by the Endendijk family on their yearly heifers because they had so much trust in this bull. Rivelino is a line that ensures extra circulation of blood within the breed and therefore is a good addition to our Friesian package.
