Jaap van Noordeinde (Minkes Jaap x Noordeinder Koen x Aaltjes Adema 35) is a 100% Dutch Friesian bull who was bred by Jan Lindeboom in Dalfsen, but is now standing at stud with our partner Dovea Genetics in Ireland. Jaap has matured exceedingly well from a young bull into a powerful adult with a great presence. This positive development is now being reflected in his breeding values: as his first daughters start lactation, his Irish breeding values have improved by leaps and bounds.
Jaap is an imposing animal with plenty of power and width in the frame. His pedigree consists of many impressive Dutch Friesian cows that had very good udder quality, matured late and had above-average production compared with the rest of the herd. The Pietje and the Minke family converge in the Anna line, which continues to display these traits. The Anna line is also known for the strength shown by Jaap. His maternal line is typified by late maturity and longevity, as demonstrated by them all completing eight or more lactations.
Jaap’s breeding values include average production figures (small minus for the milk with positive component percentages), which is good for a bull like Jaap who has more width. His scores for fertility, condition and claw health are well above average. Jaap transmits smaller stature (moderately sized animals), wide rumps and good legs with good locomotion. His index for calving ease in Ireland is not showing any problems, and he produces calves with good vitality that grow into productive dairy cows.
Jaap has beta casein A1A2 and aAa code 516.
