DV Magician rf (Magister x Supershot x Cyclone) is a bull with a huge range of highly sought-after traits. One of these, his aAa code of 516, indicates that he possesses the necessary all-round qualities. Magician rf is also a carrier of the red factor, and the favourable A2A2 and BB protein variants. In his maternal pedigree we come across the famous Massia name, while protein booster Magister features in his paternal bloodline. The youngest three generations of Magician's pedigree are red factor bulls that all merit outstanding scores for udder health, fertility and durability.

 

Among these specialists for secondary traits is Magician rf’s sire Magister. He combines a high milking speed with low somatic cell counts and offers very good fertility and durability. In terms of milk production, Magister is particularly good at improving the protein percentage. His daughters are not particularly large but offer good width. Correct legs and very good udders complete the picture for conformation.

 

As mentioned earlier, the widely used Massia familiy forms the foundation of Magician rf's maternal line (the youngest generations have been renamed Madamme). The striking feature of the cows in this family is their supreme ease of production and their ability to last for many lactations. In Magician rf's case, this has resulted in three generations of cows who are still active. The oldest is Kodak daughter Madamme 4 (VG 88). This great grand dam of Magician rf has calved seven times and already produced almost 70,000 kg of milk with good component percentages (4.68% and 3.55%). Grand dam Madamme 5 is probably the most consistent of these three when it comes to milk production per lactation, while dam Madamme 6 has shown the most progression over the lactations. She already started with impressive milk production as a heifer and has proceeded to increase production with each successive lactation. And her breeding abilities should not go unmentioned either: her three lactating daughters (by Stellando, Rosebud and Anreli) have scores for conformation of 83, 84 and 85 points respectively and protein percentages ranging from 3.70% to 4%.
