Broekhuizen Melle (Mauro x Jester x Snow) is a medium-sized, powerfully built bull with a component-rich pedigree of sires who bring some nice diversity to the bloodlines in the red-and-white population. Melle's maternal line includes the respected and reliable Roza cow family that has provided AI stations with many bulls over the years.
For generations, the Rozas have represented an all-round, high level of quality for production (including very good component percentages) and conformation, resulting in great performances including high lifetime production. The last four generations, for instance, have all achieved lifetime production above 50,000 kg of milk. The oldest of these is Roza 308, classified with 87 points. She is the dam of Ricardo, a breeding bull used in the past. One generation further, we arrive at the 86-point Kodak daughter Roza 392, with lifetime production of almost 90,000 kg of milk. Her daughter by Snow - Roza 446 - scored 88 points for overall conformation due in part to her exceptionally good dairyness. She is dam to Roza 514 (VG 86) by Mason and Roza 511 (VG 87) by Jester. The latter cow, Melles’ dam, has achieved super milk lists for years with lactation values ranging from 110 to 124. Her lifetime production now stands at almost 70,000 kg. Roza 511 is also the dam of two lactating daughters, a heifer by Abundant and a second calf daughter by Malcolm. Both produce well and score 85 points for conformation.
Melle’s sire Mauro is a bull with many similarities to the Roza line. This calving ease bull also scores high for components, and with good quality conformation. He will considerably improve the udders and legs. His daughters will not have a particularly large stature, but will have extra width and good body condition.
