High component percentages, reliable conformation and a slightly unusual pedigree are a number of stand-out traits offered by Blom Farm Jaro (Jabido x Bolt x Direct). Even more striking, however, is Jaro's aAa code, 561 -which is unique.
The round traits shown by Jaro were most likely inherited from his sire Jabido. Jabido has an interesting pedigree (Malcolm x Wisent) and was therefore widely used as a young bull. His daughters are not expected to be particularly large but should show good width. He also contributes good legs (not too straight) and good udders (with above average teat length). Jaro also brings plenty of milk production with lots of positives for the components.
These high components can also be found in Jaro's maternal line, the Sientjes. Both dam Sientje 256 (VG 86) and grand dam Sientje 247 (VG 85) have produced lists with more than 5% fat and 4% protein. And they both scored excellent average lactation values of 117 and 108 respectively. In the next generation, Sientje 236 (VG 87), also scored an average lactation value of 108. Over the course of seven long lists (she was flushed many times) she realised lifetime production of more than 106,000 kg of milk. O-Man daughter Sientje 236 is also dam to Blom Farm Award RF who was also used as a bull sire at the time.
